Vini Mercy is a force of creative expression—an artist who sings, raps, paints, and performs with unapologetic passion. Hailing from Moyo, Uganda, her work is a love letter to her roots, celebrating dark-skinned beauty, cultural pride, and the rich storytelling of West Nile.

Her artistic journey began with music, singing in the church choir at 15 before stepping into rap. In 2022, she picked up a paintbrush, teaching herself to capture the essence of her people on canvas. By 2023, she expanded into acting, featuring in Scold’s Bridle and lending her performance energy to Kizazi Moto.

Now, with her Nile’s Jewel EP and an accompanying art exhibition (August 30 - September 27, 2024), Vini is seamlessly blending sound and visuals into a single, immersive experience. Whether on stage at the Ugandan Hip-Hop Awards, at Xpressions UG, or at underground parties like Boda Stage, she brings raw energy and storytelling to every performance.

Inspired by the harmonies and flows of Destiny’s Child, Grace Nakimera and Keko, Vini creates from a place of deep cultural connection. Her music moves between personal narratives and infectious rhythms, while her paintings challenge beauty standards and honor the dignity of her community.
